Birthday Banner Tutorial
I was in banner creating mode after making the baby shower one for my friend. Created my second one for my son and I happened to take photos of the process so thought I'd share them. Excuse the bad lighting...i was working on it at 3am because that's about the only time I get to do my hobby.
Step 1: Go thru your scrap folder and select 5 pieces of blue. I keep every little piece of scrap, I only throw away if I can't punch a 2x2 out of it.
Step 2: Cut a 1" piece of felt for each border of your banner. I used my pinking shears.
Step 3: Assemble the felt onto the banner background and cut a triangle at the bottom to resemble flags. I put a layer of chipboard on the two ends so that when I tied it up, it would be more sturdy.
Step 4: Select a few buttons in a contrasting color of your cardstock.
I went for the large yellow and then used my dmc floss to thread all the button holes.
Step 5: Use a cropadile and punch holes on both ends of your banner.
Step 6: Tie a piece of tulle to hold the pieces together.
STep 7: Cut Scalloped squares for each letter in your name banner. I used my cricut machine with the mini monograms cartridge.
Step 8: Add your diecut letters
Step 9: Embellish with your sentiments and you've got one cute banner ready to display!

Sneek Peak
This is sneek Peak week over on the scrap-room's blog. This line is Pink Paislee's 365 degrees. Be sure to check back on the last day of the month for TSR's full reveal. I just love love the brad/cork embellishments and journaling tag, and the pleated ribbon from the embellishment add-on kit is wonderful too! I came up with my title from what I hear over and over again from friends and instructors who have had the opportunity to know my son..haha!

Card sketch
Are you ready for another inspiration day? This week over at Tamara's sketches, there is a new card sketch up. Here is my version. I love having extra cards around the house handy, I haven't had to go to Hallmark for several years now. Just rumage through my card box for the special occassion.
I scraplifted myself, this was a similar page I made for my other friend and this one is also a gift for my expectant friend.
My double pager using TSR's May Bo Bunny kit.
This weekend is my baby's 1st Birthday! We're planning a backyard BBQ and have a swimming pool up if it stops raining and warms up. Too bad all the kids are sick right now. I'm crossing my fingers they will get better by the weekend.

Tue Recipe Challenge
Today's MAY recipe challenge over at Sketches by Tamara is to use these three items:
1) Masking
2) Alphabet
3) Yellow
Notice the first letter of the items corresponds to the month? Cool huh? Here's my interpretation. Check out what all the other designers did.
This has been a very busy month for me. Going from a very busy tax season to Atlanta for some training, then my SIL got married, and just threw a baby shower for a friend, and now the kids have their end of school activities, Kenzie has her dance recital coming up and she'll get to perform on stage at Century II, Paxton's first birthday to plan....I can never catch up!
On the fun side, Kenzie can ride with no training wheels now! I took it off a couple weeks ago after the wedding and trained her within 15 minutes. She had problems learning how to start herself but the next day she practiced and practiced and could ride her cousin Dara's bike because her's is now too little for her. This friday at school is bike day so we went to Walmart and she picked out a 16" one...she wanted the barbie one because it has a little bike on the handle bar where she could place her own barbie in it.
The other exciting news is Paxton is walking! Yep, he's learned how to stand just in the last couple months and has been taking 3-4 steps here and there but now he's fully walking on his own at 11mos. On top of that, he can drag two cans of pop too!
Lam gave me a watch for Mother's day and it had 3 bows on the box, I told the kids to each put a bow on their heads cuz they are my gifts.
